We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected.
The classroom phase of driver education will begin on November 23 at 3:15 pm, in Room 512. A classlist will be posted on the website. Please turn printed registration forms into student services or the front office.

The Knightdale High School Department of Visual and Performing Arts and the English Department in association with the Knightdale Repertory Theatre present the much loved and critically acclaimed American classic To Kill a Mockingbird written by Harper Lee and dramatized by Christopher Sergel. Presented in the Knightdale High School Auditorium Theatre, To Kill a Mockingbird runs from November 19-21, 2009. Admission is $7.00.
A special performance will be presented to ninth grade English students on Tuesday, November 17th and a student rush ticket can be purchased for the Wednesday, November 18th performance for the low cost of $5.00. Students from all schools are invited to attend and take advantage of the offer.
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics ( NCSSM ) is statewide residential magnet high school for academically talented juniors and seniors located in Durham , North Carolina. NCSSM offers students the opportunity to live in a community with others of similar intellect, interests, and aspirations. Interested students should take the SAT-I on October 10, November 7, December 5 or January 23, 2010 of their sophomore year. Only official SAT-1 scores will be accepted. Applicants must use NCSSM Admissions code, 2241 in Block 11A when completing the SAT-1 registration form to ensure test results are mailed directly to NCSSM. Students should use KHS’s school code (342124 ) in Block 5. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.ncssm.edu . Applications will be available by mid-October, 2009. Summer Ventures In Science & Math (SVSM) - www.summerventures.org - is a program administered by the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. SVSM is a cost-free, state-funded summer program for academically talented students who may pursue careers based in science and mathematics. The average SVSM participant weighted GPA for 2009 was 3.86.The program brings rising juniors and seniors together in residential settings on one of six NC university campuses for four weeks of intensive summer study. 10th & 11th graders who have high academic ability and motivation, and have a keen interest in science and mathematics are encouraged to apply. The Triangle Tip Off Basketball Tournament will be held on Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, 2009 which will feature some of the best local girls and boy’s basketball talent. Boys Teams are Knightdale, Rocky Mount, East Chapel Hill, Wilson Fike. Girls teams are Knightdale, Rocky Mount, Wilson Fike, and Wake Forest Rolesville.
Games Start at 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, and 6:00 each day. The bracket will be available and updated before the tournament. Tickets are available at the door and are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids
