The portfolio is a compilation of materials gathered throughout the Graduation Project.  Students should start collecting information and materials from the start.

Materials Include:

The Portfolio is a tangible chronicle of the journey a student makes completing the Graduation Project.  Viewers of the portfolio should clearly understand how a student: began the project, learned through investigation and reached a “higher level of understanding” of a chosen topic.

The portfolio is a “monitor of progress”.  KHS faculty advisors and community “mentors” can monitor and guide their students by regular review of the portfolio.  Faculty advisors will assign the final grade for the portfolio (but not the entire Graduation Project).

Portfolios are graded using the following criteria:

Portfolios need to pass ALL CRITIRIA AREAS with “Satisfactory” (B) or “Exemplary” (A) status, to complete the portfolio portion of the Graduation Project (see the “Portfolio Rubric PDF file below).

* Students should incorporate technology (Photoshop, PowerPoint, web pages, DVD, CD, Video, Excel files and charts, Word documents, flatbed scanned information, etc…)  into their portfolios.  In the “paperless world of the 21st century”, it’s highly possible for a student to create an entire portfolio on one DVD.  Students can utilize their portfolios when completing applications to colleges, universities or interviewing for employment.
