Here is a list of items you will want to cover when first meeting your students (During your Prep Period: May 5th-9th):
- Review overall Graduation Project, the Web Site info and why they HAVE to do this to graduate.
- Four P's (Paper, Product, Portfolio and Presentation)
- 2010 KHS Graduates Timeline (on the web site)
- * Items they need to do NOW (and complete before they go on SUMMER BREAK)
- EXPLAIN the "Central Question Development" handout - to start them thinking and deciding.
- Collect contact information (student e-mail addresses)
- Point out that THEY ARE THE ONES DOING THE PROJECT and to utilize the web site for answers or to E-MAIL the Graduation Project Comittee to get answers.
* The following are those items due before JUNE (and must be SAVED for their PORTFOLIO)
TIPS TO HELP YOU:
- Go on SAM and find out what class they have during your PREP PERIOD (That's when you'll meet them)
- Print out a "Student List" form and write down thier e-mail contact info and meeting time
- Contact the students that have e-mail addresses ahead of time, so that they can prepare for the meeting by looking at: the Web Site and have questions ready. (If you feel really good, send a letter for those students you'll be meeting if you don't have an e-mail address. Drop that letter in the mailbox of the teacher during the period you'll be meeting your students.)
- CREATE PRINTOUT PACKETS of the items due in June (I've placed links to those items above*). Include a TIMELINE COPY for them.
- Place those items in a folder that has their name on it.
- HERE ARE two forms to download to make passes for your students:
Generic Hall Pass PDF
Generic Hall Pass Word
Hope this helps. If you have further questions, please contact the Graduation Project Comittee or your "Comittee Mentor".
