Academy students normally take a mix of two or three academy courses each year and the rest academic or other elective courses. Academy courses are designed to show students how their subjects relate to each other and the career field.

Students who apply to BISA may be interested in jobs such as:
  • Accountant
  • Small Business Owner
  • PC Technician
  • Network Technician
  • Web Developer
  • Marketing Specialist
  • Advertising Designer

WHY SHOULD I JOIN BISA?

  • To gain real world experience in business and information systems
  • To create opportunities for individual growth
  • To gain practical work experience
  • To receive special recognition at graduation
  • To have the opportunity to learn with others who share the same interests
  • To have leadership, service, and extra-curricular activities listed on their college and/or job application

WHO CAN JOIN?
Any rising 10th grader is eligible to join the Business Information Systems Academy. Students should pass their 9th grade math class with a “C” or better. Teacher recommendations will also be considered when applying.

Students who are admitted to the academy will begin taking a sophomore-level career / academic cohort class to connect their studies with real-world situations. This commitment will culminate in an internship their senior year at a business.

WHEN DO I NEED TO COMMIT?
