The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics ( NCSSM ) is statewide residential magnet high school for academically talented juniors and seniors located in Durham , North Carolina. NCSSM offers students the opportunity to live in a community with others of similar intellect, interests, and aspirations. Interested students should take the SAT-I on October 10, November 7, December 5 or January 23, 2010 of their sophomore year. Only official SAT-1 scores will be accepted. Applicants must use NCSSM Admissions code, 2241 in Block 11A when completing the SAT-1 registration form to ensure test results are mailed directly to NCSSM. Students should use KHS’s school code (342124 ) in Block 5. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.ncssm.edu . Applications will be available by mid-October, 2009. . All NCSSM applicants will be required to attend one of three Discovery Dates, assigned by the Office of Admissions: Saturday, February 13, Saturday, March 6, or Saturday, March 13, 2010 . Students chosen as finalists will be invited for a campus visit on May 1, 2010 .
