VISUAL ART 3

Overview

Students will understand a variety of mediums throughout the art discipline as required in the Standard Course of Study.  Emphasis on working with and understanding the Principles of Design are important in this course. Also, we will begin to work with devoloping a Visual Portfolio.We will also be exploring careers within the broad field of art that goes beyond the boundaries of the classroom.     

Within the classroom it is important for students too keep a sketcbook for in class preliminary drawings. The purpose of the sketchbook to is to facilatate student guided learning. The book is evidence that students are understanding specific concepts in the classroom. Sketchbook are also valuable for learners who are visual learners. In the visual arts we are all about the process of projects and not just the final product because the majority of the learning is in the process.

Required For Class

All students are required to have a 90 page 9" x 12" wirebound sketchbook for class. This sketchbook will be used daily for note taking, warm up activities and preliminary work for projects. These books can be found at a number of vendors for five dollars or less. If there are any issues about getting a sketchbook please see me before and after class.
