Visual and Performing Arts

Welcoming you to the 2010-2011 School Year

C.O.R.E.
(Classroom Opportunity for Remediation and Enrichment)

This year Knightdale High has implemented the C.O.R.E. program which provides students with a weekly opportunity to acquire the academic knowledge and skills needed to be successful in their classes.
The Visual and Performing Arts Department has set aside the first thirty minutes of each Friday class as C.O.R.E. time where students can seek personal help, make up late work or use the time for advanced study.

Required/Recommended Items for all Fine Arts Course

If a student is taking an Art course this year they will need specific items. Each student is required to have these items for every class period just like any other class offered at Knightdale High. Please check out the Fine Arts List for your student's semester requirements. If you have any questions regarding supplies please email the teacher of the course.

We Need Your Help!

We are all aware of what is happening in today's economy and it is effecting everyone of us in multiple ways. This year the Visual Arts are on the hunt for used items that are not being used anymore. The Art Department is looking for your odds 'n ends. We are currently taking in the lost treasures of your house to be used in current art projects. Please review the list of things that could qualify, if it's not on the list we'll probably take it. Check out the list here! Any kind of donation will greatly help the students learning at KHS. All donations can be dropped off at room 611, the main office or arrangements can be made for pick ups by emailing Ann Adams at aradams@wcpss.net

Teacher Webpages

Parents and students, please visit your individual instructor's website (above VISUAL ART link) for information regarding your class. We strive to keep you informed so help us by taking the time to learn about us and the courses we teach. The individual webpages are filled with study guides, sample work, and schedules specific to each teacher's classes. All Arts Education teachers strongly encourage students and parents to visit SPAN regularly to monitor their academic progress. It is important to always know how you are doing. Your success is our goal!
